What is root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment aims to treat and preserve teeth whose root canals have been damaged or infected. During the procedure, the damaged tissue and bacteria are removed from the root canals, and the canals are filled with a special material to prevent re-infection.
We handle complex cases, including those where previous treatments have failed, and the root canals need to be retreated. Performing root canal treatment with a microscope ensures precise and effective care, helping to maintain the health and function of your teeth in the long term.
endodontist – doctor Vladimir Volkov
Indications for root canal treatment:
- Severe pain
- Gum inflammation around the tooth
- Trauma or tooth damage
- Pain or sensitivity when chewing or consuming hot/cold foods
- Infection or abscess near the tooth
- Pre-treatment for aesthetic restorations (veneers)
Advantages of root canal treatment with a microscope:
Steps in steps in microscope-assisted root canal treatment:
- Anesthesia: The teeth are numbed to ensure patient comfort.
- Opening the canals: The dentist opens the root canals to access their interior and remove infected tissue.
- Cleaning: Bacteria, infection, and damaged tissue are removed from the root canals.
- Disinfection and treatment: The root canals are disinfected and treated with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory medications.
- Filling: The root canals are filled with a special material to prevent future infections.
- Sealing: The openings in the root canals are carefully sealed to protect the tooth’s integrity and prevent bacterial entry.
