Nose surgery

FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery)

Functional endoscopic surgery of the nose and paranasal sinuses. It is performed under general or local anesthesia, with the use of high-quality optical equipment, which provides the doctor with high-quality visual access to the surgical site. It is prescribed to restore proper air circulation through the sinuses of the nose.

Indications for FESS surgery:

  • polyps, cysts;
  • chronic sinusitis;
  • vasomotor and hypertrophic rhinitis;
  • fungal lesions of the sinuses;
  • foreign bodies of the nasal cavity and sinuses;
  • hyperplasia of the nasal mucosa;
  • pathology of the lacrimal sac and lacrimal-nasal passages with prolonged lacrimation.

Surgery aimed at the correction of the nasal septum shape. The intervention is carried out in the event of pronounced deformation of the bone-cartilaginous plate, which provokes difficulty breathing and morphological changes in the nasopharyngeal mucosa. The use of an optical device and a progressive method of surgery allows you to recover from surgery within 1 month.

2. Submucous conchoplasty

The operation is prescribed for severe swelling of the mucous membranes of the nasal conchs, as a result of which incomplete breathing is observed. With the help of submucous conchoplasty, the size of the inflamed mucosa is reduced not through the removal (excision) of the affected tissues, but by cauterization. Recovery after surgery is due in 3 weeks.

At Meerhof, a Recovery Room has been opened, which is necessary for patients to feel comfortable after surgery.

An ENT doctor accepts patients from the age of 15 at the Meerhof Dental Center clinic.
